Avenged Sevenfold was there when I first really fell in love with music, and they have always been there. They've been one of the greatest bands I have ever come across, and I will never stop loving their music. My best wishes go out to Rev's family, and the guys of A7X. <lj:music>"Sweet Caroline" -Beelzebubs</lj:music>

I've been meaning to get a paid account for a while now, but I figured I'd get one after the holidays. But today I got an email from livejournal notifying me that the amazing windhimme had given me a $10 coupon, so I figured paying ten bucks for a paid account wasn't a big deal, given that I just got some money back from my college and what not ^_^

So I think since I saved some cash and all, I'll just wait until after the holidays to use that extra 10 dollars to buy myself more userpics and what not. This is going to be fun!

Once more, many thanks to windhimme

This stupid fucking icon-making trend (aka, what n00bz do) of just fucking setting a manga image on multiply over a texture and calling it "art" or a "good icon". Am I the only one who thinks that's a problem? It really pisses me off. Ok, so there are situations where they look good, or awesome, whatever, but that's rarely, and usually when that happens it's by someone who really understands icon making and didnt just get photoshop and wants to be an internet celebrity without really trying.

I can't believe nobody has ever ranted about this before. I'm not a bitch. I just know what's ugly. Don't believe me? Here are a few examples. Also, yes, it happens most frequently in the Bleach fandom >_< :

1. 2. 3. 4.
5. 6. 7. 8.

Used Correctly:
9.

So yea, I guess some of the ugly ones aren't bad, but seriously?!!
1. Actually submitted in a LIMS. Honestly? No, you can't submit something so basic to a community where you're trying to beat out some real excellent iconists. You're trying to win, remember.
2. Not so bad. At least the image is in high quality and all. The texture just has nothing to do with the image nor compliment it.
3. There may have been a chance I'd like it if it was used just on the guy alone (I can't even tell who it is. Shaoron or Fai...). The writing looks gross and the random patches are just ridiculous.
4. What? Ok, Gin is not an ugly shade of brown. He does not have gross blotches all over his face. It's not complimentary at all.
5. Ughhhh. It just makes be cry. Too much pink/purple. What is going on in the corners? That's not even a natural color. And that border went out in 2002.
6. All the little designs in the texture just make Stark's skin look disgusting. Smudges, blotches, streaks, various colors.
7. I actually had to sit there and try to figure out just what the hell this was for a while. It's Aizen. Sitting on ban chair. It's smudgey and the colors are too dark. Not to mention the text is in poor quality also. He has fucking stripes!
8. Please tell me you understand this one. It makes me want to cry. One of the ugliest icons I have ever seen. There's just textures thrown all over it. Nobody takes time to come up with this. It looks like someone threw a rainbow up on it. Oh, and the tiny text you can't read that you know you're supposed to read. Blotchyyyyy

9. Thank you for giving me some hope. The manga image itself is in good quality. It is pasted on a texture that isn't multiple colors with weird designs. The main color is actually skin-like tone. It almost looks natural. And the texture has designs to the side that compliment the image and adds entertainment to the icon.

I don't understand how people can post such icons. Do they really think such little effort can make a great icon? Ok, I like this texture...and this picture...so together they are amazing. No. It doesn't work like that. Not every texture works with every image. You have to have a sense of what is appealing. And you can't make people have mulitple skin colors of facial/bodily defects on them. And it makes me mad that I'm the only person who seems not to like these. Does nobody understand quality anymore?

Also, I may do some more icon rants on things like ugly text, lack of aspect-ratio, weird cropping/subject matter, etc. if I feel like it in the future.

It is 4:15AM and I need sleep

    <lj:music>"Forever & Always" -Taylor Swift</lj:music>

So an old friend and I just had a long discussion on facebook about Panic! At The Disco (yes, I still continue to put the ! even though they dropped it). Anywho, it all started when I was listening to iTunes and "Nine In The Afternoon" came on. Which really got me thinking. How can you possibly have a nine in the afternoon? Yes, there is the logical "any time after noon is the afternoon" theory which my friend said, but nine is such an odd time to say it for. We discussed how that's kind of silly because when most people think about the afternoon, it's bright out and usually takes some place between 1-5. Nine is not a bright time. Especially since it's being shown as happy bright wake up time in the music video.
So then we began discussing how P!ATD pretty uch started going downhill and what not starting from the second album. I commented on how they never were the same after they attempted to be like The Beatles and what not, which pretty much screwed them over. They were fine doing their own thing and being, for the most part, original, but once they tried to be something like The Beatles, they were pretty much rejected instantly. And then when they broke off due to "musical differences" or some bullshit like that. And when you listen to "New Perspective", the new song by P!ATD, it sounds like they're getting back to their original roots and it actuallly tends to get stuck in your head. And then when you listen to the Young Veins', the new Ryan Rooss & Jon Walker band, nnew song, you can tell that they're trying to be like The Beatles. And they just aren't going to go anywhere with that.

Moral of the story? Don't try to be The Beatles.

I have read every chapter of Tegami Bachi in less than 24 hours. It's a real good read and I can't wait for more chapters (ew, monthly). From the moment I read it, I fell in love with Gauche Suede, who is Lag, the protagonist's hero. Anyway, Gauche goes disappearing and then loses his memory, and then turns out to be on the dark side, gah, so hot ^_^
Well, I've been reading all day and my brain is kind of numb right now, so this summary sucks. Anyway, it's a real great series, it's already become one of my favorites, and I would highly recommend it.

EDIT: Ok, trying to summarize here...

We start the story with 18 year old Gauche Suede (OMG YES I LIKE A LEGAL CHARACTER!) who is sent to some distant town to deliver a "letter", only to find that that letter is actually Lag Seeing, a little boy who's mother was taken away from him. Lag is supposed to be sent to some town to live with his aunt, which is where Gauche leads him. On this journey, both Lag and Gauche get to know each other and even encounter a few of these giant metal insect enemies, which can only be killed it you shoot them with bits of your "heart". Gauche explains to Lag why the letters he delivers are so important and why he can never not deliver one, because they are made from people's hearts.
Lag sneaks away with Gauche's gun one night so that he can go find his mother, but gets attacked by the bugs. Gauche soon comes to the rescue, however, he injured himself in an attempt to save Lag. Gauche must then shoot with Lag's help. Yadda yadda yadda, victory occurs. Gauche then wakes up 3 or so days later in Lag's aunts house, and is pretty much kicked out of the town for being a government worker. As Gauche begins to leave, Lag confronts him. Gauche calls Lag a friend and as he walks away, Lag tells Gauche that he wants to become a Letter Bee, just like Gauche.
Five years later, Lag is getting picked up to take the test to become a Letter Bee. There's some adventures going on in between, but I don't want to focus on those. When Lag goes to visit Gauche's sister (who he had seen in Gauche's "heart"/memories), she tells him that Gauche is dead. It is then discovered that he went missing.
*SPOILERS FOR KLUX*
With research, Lag finds fragments about Gauche, and then learns that he had lost his heart, and therefor can not remember who he is. Then one day, Lag runs into Gauche, who does not know who Lag is or anything about his past. It is revealed that Gauche was wiped of his memory some how and is now working for Reverse, an anti-government organization that steals the letters. Gauche goes by the name of Noir now, btw. Lag struggles to get Gauche's memory back, despite Gauche himself trying to beat up Lag. With a special bullet with a letter ("I miss you") from Lag inserted into it, Lag shoots Gauche and is able to revive his heart, but only for a few minutes before he passes out.
Now there's a new arc that I don't know much about

So, I decided I'm going to try to work on my NaNo today. I've only gotten the summary so far XD

SUMMARY:
Samuel J. Toothton ((lol @ name)) is not your average salesman. Sure, he goes door too door and makes a sales quota, but there's just something about him that seems out of the ordinary. Could it be that he never sells the same product? Or sells in the same town twice? Maybe it's the fact that he never states the name of his company. No, no, no. There must be something more to it. Ah, yes, it could possibly be that for every time you give Samuel a "yes", he has been given the consent to sell your soul.

I got pretty damn excited when I found out about this. Yea, apparently the InuYasha anime is continuing where it left off and finishing the whole story. Unfortunately, this is all to be done in about 26 or so episodes, so the story will be rushed. I just sat down and watched the first 5 episodes today.
The reason I was so excited about this is because InuYasha was my first real anime. Sure, I watched Pokemon, Digimon, and all of those, but InuYasha was the first series I ever fell in love with. It brought me into the world of anime, and eventually manga, and it became an obsession. I had my first anime crush watching the show! So when I heard about this, I was excited to relive such a major part of my life. It's kind of like when I had that whole Digimon marathon over a year ago.

It's kind of funny. I haven't really sat down, loaded, and watched anime in almost a year (pretty much since the Bleach filler!princess arc). It felt weird. But I still know where to go for the episodes. Anyway, when the series started, I pretty much understood it. It's been about two or so years since I've actually watched InuYasha, so I do forget the final episodes, but you quickly get caught up in the anime. The art and the story haven't changed at all. And theres no time wasted reviewing what happens in the past. The series starts up right where it left off as if there wasn't such a large break in between both series.
I honestly like the fast pace. Sure, they neglect to explain things (I think Sesshomaru got a new power that happened out of random), and some things make your head tilt, but there isn't a moment with needless information and conversations that I honestly do not care about. If you don't really remember things, I would suggest that you watch the last couple of episodes of the original InuYasha series to catch up on it. I would have hated having a whole episode devoted to the Demon Fox school-thing that Shippou was doing, but I didn't mind that it took up a few minutes.

So far, the characters are getting all these amazing powers. InuYasha's sword now can absorb demon energy, Sesshomaru can send people to hell, and Kouga has these awesome lightning claw things. Yea, all that happened in five episodes. Gawd, I love Kouga.

The real upsetting thing? Kagura dies. At first, I was kind of ticked. She was pretty much an independent character, and I was growing fond of her, so it pissed me off when Naroku gave her her heart back and instantly killed her. But as she's dying, Sesshomaru senses her dying (yes, her, he knew it was her and not Naroku) and rushes to see her. Now, I've never really understood the pairing, but after the whole interaction, I am seriously considering it. It was very cute. Here we have two characters that don't show emotions or anything, but Sesshy is clearly upset that she is dying, and even agonizes over the fact that he can not save her, while Kagura stops fighting death because she is able to see him one last time.

I'm definitely going to pay attention to this series and watch it whenever I can. I really have missed it and it's nice to see the characters again.

Kaien-dono will always be one of the firsts on my list.

4.
LAVI LAVI LAVI LAVI LAVI!!! I LOVE Lavi. Oh, he's from D.Gray-Man (my favorite series). Reason one to love Lavi: he has red hair!!! He's pretty much the comic releif of the series in the beginning *gets distracted for a bit by photos...* but towards the end of the ark arc, we get to see his past and learn the dark truth about bookmen and how Lavi doesn't want to live like one and what not. And he's so cute. And I kept feeling so bad for him during those few episodes. And well, sorry, lavi's just love.

5.
Kuroki of Blazer Drive. He's adorable. He's smart and wicked powerful and pretends to be badass when he really isn't. And it's 1:37AM and I'm not doing long rants any more.

6.
Hayato Gokudera of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! When I first read the series, I absolutely did not like Gokudera. I thought he was pretty annoying and what not. But later into the series, he began to develop more and more and got absolutely badass and what not. I just found myself hating him less and less.

7.
Gareki of Karneval. YOU ARE NOT HUMAN (OR PERTAINING OF ANY SEX DRIVE) IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SMASH! No, I'm dead serious. Even my boyfriend wants him. He's just so gorgous. He's what fangirls pretty much dream of, he's like their ideal character. I wish I could have found better pictures so you guys could properly understand how amazing he is. I have not met a single person who reads Karneval that does not want him.

8.
Kaname Kuran of Vampire Knight. Literally the only reason I still read the series. He's just so amazingly pretty. And, well, a bad-ass pure blood vampire. Pretty much the leader of vampires. Yea, that's hot.

9.
Kamina of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Literrally the MANLIEST, MOST GAR character to ever be created. He's hot, has a great body, funny, and badass to an unbelievable extent. If you've watched the show, I'm pretty sure you understand this.

10.
Kouga of InuYasha. He needed to round up the top ten, he just needed to. InuYasha was my first anime. I loved it. And Kouga was the first character to ever make me a fangirl. Even though I'm not really into the series and my obsession for him has died down quite a lot, he's still amazing. I'm so upset Kagome never gave him much of the time of day. True, in the beginning of the series, he was pretty much an ass, but later in the series he developed into so much more. Also, I believe he's the only long-haired character I truly love

Other Characters Worth Mentioning ((Bonus)): Hisagi Shuuhei of Bleach (OMG HOW DID I NOT HAVE HIM IN THE TOP TEN?!! I'LL TAKE HIM AND KAIEN AS ONE!), Renji Abarai of Bleach, Nue of Air Gear, Fai D. Flourite of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Matt Ishida of Digimon (*iz shot by pedo cannon*, Kittan of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Allen Walker of D.Gray-Man, Akira of Air Gear, Light Yagami of Death Note, etc. etc. .

I fucking hate it here. I always feel so lonely. It fucking sucks. I just want to cry. I'm not enjoying college at all. I don't get why people love it so much. I'm to socially awkward to make friends, not to mention I'm so different than everyone else. I'm really not enjoying this and I have no idea why I made the decision to stay here this weekend. Oh yea, my boyfriend was supposed to come up

My birthday is in a few days. I'm not really excited about it or anything. I'm just pretty "meh". I don't find birthdays that exciting anymore. I want to get my mom a present. You know, since it's her day too. I hope I can buy something by then.

Also, sorry for lack of updates. I've started school recently and have been pretty busy.

Stu and i are going to see the used next month. This is great since I've always wanted to see them but never had. I thought they were kinda dead, but I found out they're playing at the House Of Blues. I texted Stu and I think he's more excited than I am
