21st-Nov-2009 09:46 pm - Tegami Bachi
[Blazer]-ZOMG! KUROKI!!!
I have read every chapter of Tegami Bachi in less than 24 hours. It's a real good read and I can't wait for more chapters (ew, monthly). From the moment I read it, I fell in love with Gauche Suede, who is Lag, the protagonist's hero. Anyway, Gauche goes disappearing and then loses his memory, and then turns out to be on the dark side, gah, so hot ^_^
Well, I've been reading all day and my brain is kind of numb right now, so this summary sucks. Anyway, it's a real great series, it's already become one of my favorites, and I would highly recommend it.

EDIT: Ok, trying to summarize here...

We start the story with 18 year old Gauche Suede (OMG YES I LIKE A LEGAL CHARACTER!) who is sent to some distant town to deliver a "letter", only to find that that letter is actually Lag Seeing, a little boy who's mother was taken away from him. Lag is supposed to be sent to some town to live with his aunt, which is where Gauche leads him. On this journey, both Lag and Gauche get to know each other and even encounter a few of these giant metal insect enemies, which can only be killed it you shoot them with bits of your "heart". Gauche explains to Lag why the letters he delivers are so important and why he can never not deliver one, because they are made from people's hearts.
Lag sneaks away with Gauche's gun one night so that he can go find his mother, but gets attacked by the bugs. Gauche soon comes to the rescue, however, he injured himself in an attempt to save Lag. Gauche must then shoot with Lag's help. Yadda yadda yadda, victory occurs. Gauche then wakes up 3 or so days later in Lag's aunts house, and is pretty much kicked out of the town for being a government worker. As Gauche begins to leave, Lag confronts him. Gauche calls Lag a friend and as he walks away, Lag tells Gauche that he wants to become a Letter Bee, just like Gauche.
Five years later, Lag is getting picked up to take the test to become a Letter Bee. There's some adventures going on in between, but I don't want to focus on those. When Lag goes to visit Gauche's sister (who he had seen in Gauche's "heart"/memories), she tells him that Gauche is dead. It is then discovered that he went missing.
*SPOILERS FOR KLUX*
With research, Lag finds fragments about Gauche, and then learns that he had lost his heart, and therefor can not remember who he is. Then one day, Lag runs into Gauche, who does not know who Lag is or anything about his past. It is revealed that Gauche was wiped of his memory some how and is now working for Reverse, an anti-government organization that steals the letters. Gauche goes by the name of Noir now, btw. Lag struggles to get Gauche's memory back, despite Gauche himself trying to beat up Lag. With a special bullet with a letter ("I miss you") from Lag inserted into it, Lag shoots Gauche and is able to revive his heart, but only for a few minutes before he passes out.
Now there's a new arc that I don't know much about

[BLEACH]-Shuuhei_sensei
So, I decided I'm going to try to work on my NaNo today. I've only gotten the summary so far XD

SUMMARY:
Samuel J. Toothton ((lol @ name)) is not your average salesman. Sure, he goes door too door and makes a sales quota, but there's just something about him that seems out of the ordinary. Could it be that he never sells the same product? Or  sells in the same town twice? Maybe it's the fact that he never states the name of his company. No, no, no. There must be something more to it. Ah, yes, it could possibly be that for every time you give Samuel a "yes", he has been given the consent to sell your soul.
2nd-Nov-2009 09:56 pm - InuYasha The Final Act
[Blazer]-ZOMG! KUROKI!!!
I got pretty damn excited when I found out about this. Yea, apparently the InuYasha anime is continuing where it left off and finishing the whole story. Unfortunately, this is all to be done in about 26 or so episodes, so the story will be rushed. I just sat down and watched the first 5 episodes today.
The reason I was so excited about this is because InuYasha was my first real anime. Sure, I watched Pokemon, Digimon, and all of those, but InuYasha was the first series I ever fell in love with. It brought me into the world of anime, and eventually manga, and it became an obsession. I had my first anime crush watching the show! So when I heard about this, I was excited to relive such a major part of my life. It's kind of like when I had that whole Digimon marathon over a year ago.

It's kind of funny. I haven't really sat down, loaded, and watched anime in almost a year (pretty much since the Bleach filler!princess arc). It felt weird. But I still know where to go for the episodes. Anyway, when the series started, I pretty much understood it. It's been about two or so years since I've actually watched InuYasha, so I do forget the final episodes, but you quickly get caught up in the anime. The art and the story haven't changed at all. And theres no time wasted reviewing what happens in the past. The series starts up right where it left off as if there wasn't such a large break in between both series.
I honestly like the fast pace. Sure, they neglect to explain things (I think Sesshomaru got a new power that happened out of random), and some things make your head tilt, but there isn't a moment with needless information and conversations that I honestly do not care about. If you don't really remember things, I would suggest that you watch the last couple of episodes of the original InuYasha series to catch up on it. I would have hated having a whole episode devoted to the Demon Fox school-thing that Shippou was doing, but I didn't mind that it took up a few minutes.

So far, the characters are getting all these amazing powers. InuYasha's sword now can absorb demon energy, Sesshomaru can send people to hell, and Kouga has these awesome lightning claw things. Yea, all that happened in five episodes. Gawd, I love Kouga.

The real upsetting thing? Kagura dies. At first, I was kind of ticked. She was pretty much an independent character, and I was growing fond of her, so it pissed me off when Naroku gave her her heart back and instantly killed her. But as she's dying, Sesshomaru senses her dying (yes, her, he knew it was her and not Naroku) and rushes to see her. Now, I've never really understood the pairing, but after the whole interaction, I am seriously considering it. It was very cute. Here we have two characters that don't show emotions or anything, but Sesshy is clearly upset that she is dying, and even agonizes over the fact that he can not save her, while Kagura stops fighting death because she is able to see him one last time.

I'm definitely going to pay attention to this series and watch it whenever I can. I really have missed it and it's nice to see the characters again.

[BLEACH]-Kaien_heart
So I just watched episode 160 on Adult Swim ((dubbed)) and I was not disappointed. If you do not know, that is my most favoritest episode, well, cuz it has the amazing Kaien-dono flashback. I'm really happy now and so motivated to finish my manifesto and pick-up my fanfic once more, but unfortunately, I left my laptop charger at the dorm so it will have to wait =/
